I'm Writing a Book
...and I need your help to finish it
I have a longer email with more details and an anecdote (you know I love anecdotes) coming to your inbox on Sunday. Here’s the short and sweet of it.
I’m writing my first book about rest and joy. It started with a writing class, blossomed into a proposal I finished in February, and now it’s been peer reviewed by over twenty colleagues and friends. I knew I needed accountability and support to get the book out into the world though.
My instructor from the October class asked me to apply to her eight month writing program. I applied and was accepted! It’s a program that’s as rigorous as a MFA but more cost effective called the Monthly Mentorship.
I’m crowdsourcing support to help pay for the cost of the program. I received a scholarship from the director of the program, Katey Schultz, that has helped bring the cost down. You can read more about the program here.
I’m committed to becoming a better writer and getting this book out into the world for a 2027 release. But I need your help to do it.
I know the world is crazy right now and I’m not demanding anything, simply asking for help if you have the capacity to help.
If you’ve gotten anything from my words or work over the last five years, consider signing up for Recess! It’s weekly guided rest sessions on Fridays and Saturdays. You can get a monthly or quarterly pass here.
You can also “buy me a tea” and tip me on Ko-Fi. Every bit counts and I’m so grateful for you help and encouragement!
